Honey bees are dying out all over the world and it’s time to act to help combat their decline. As an individual, you don’t need to become a beekeeper to help keep bees. You can participate with the Pinellas Beekeepers Association, Inc., a 501C3 non-profit corporation to keep bees for a year. Your donation to one of the program options listed below will be used to support PBA’s efforts to bolster bee populations around Pinellas County Florida.
Program Options: $50.00 – Adopt-A-Queen: Your donation of $50.00 will support the adoption of a queen bee for one year and entitle you to receive regular reports of the PBA apiary plus 1 pound of honey from the PBA apiary.
$150.00 – Adopt-A-NUC: Your donation of $150.00 will support the adoption of a NUC (5 frames of worker bees and a queen) for one year and entitle you to receive regular reports of the PBA apiary plus 3 pounds of honey from the PBA apiary.
$300.00 – Adopt-A-BEEHIVE: Your donation of $300.00 will support the adoption of a BEEHIVE (10 frames of worker bees and a queen) for one year, have your name placed on the hive and entitle you to receive an official hive adoption certificate, regular reports of your adopted hive plus 6 pounds of honey from the PBA apiary.
$500.00 – Adopt-A-BEEHIVE PLUS: all the benefits of Adopt-A-BEEHIVE plus a Tour of the Apiary. Receive a picture taken in a Bee Suit next to your hive. (Does NOT include transportation to and from the Apiary. A Release and Hold Harmless Waiver must be signed before entering the Apiary)
